About Us
Established in 1986
The Coachella Valley Wild Bird Center is a non-profit corporation created for the care and rehabilitation of orphaned injured or sick native wild birds, with the ultimate goal of releasing them back into their habitats; to provide community education in the ways and needs of wild birds; to promote a deeper respect and understanding of the problems facing wildlife in an environment that is being altered by human activities. We can’t succeed alone, and need the support of community members like you to really make a significant impact. Learn more about our work and how you can get involved.
WHAT WE DO

RESCUE
Helping Birds in Need.
We take in orphaned & injured native wild birds.
We specialize in raptors, owls, pelican and other birds of prey

REHABILITATION
Birds taken into our care are fed and treated for injuries. Before release back into the wild, the birds regain their wing strength in our large flight cages.

RELEASE
The goal is to release the birds back into their native habitat.
Over 60% of the birds brought into CVWBC are eventually released!

OUTREACH
We educate the community in the ways and needs of wild birds and to promote a deeper respect and understanding of the problems facing wildlife in an environment
